On average, I’ve been shipping 3 to 4 items per day. I have not opened an eBay store yet because eBay continues to give me bonus free listings. My listing count is hovering around 130-150 active listings at any time.
My listing goal is to get this number closer to 200 this month so that I can make an argument to finally open up my store.
Unfortunately, my eBay business has taken a serious hit this week and I can’t blame anyone but myself. My work has become extremely stressful and I am in the process of selling and moving out of my house of 13 years so I’ve been a little sidetracked. Woe is me, I know.
It is my hope to get things back on track this weekend and start listing the pile of Goodwill items I’ve amassed. Once I get those items listed, I’ll see my sales jump back up to normal.
My initial goal is to bring my monthly sales to over $1,000 before the end of the year. I am currently selling about $800 per month.
My average profit margin per sale is around 50% after all expenses and fees. I am working towards growing my sales to a point where my eBay business is a strong third income for my family.
My initial goal with eBay was to help me pay off credit card debt. Now that the debt is gone, the income is slowly growing to an actual third income that we can include in our monthly budget.
So my new goal is to grow my store to the point where it is enough for us to pay double house payments each month and get our house paid off much sooner. Paying off our house would be a huge accomplishment as well as a huge burden lifted considering it’s our largest monthly debt.
The only way I can do that is to find more items to list and improve my profit margins by finding better items.
Speaking of finding more items to list: I am off on a Goodwill shopping spree to see what I can find today.
Fingers crossed I find that jackpot item!
